#GarudaSelect's Director of Football, Dennis Wise hopes that the players can make the way Manchester City Youth play as a benchmark for them in the future. Throughout the match, the opposing team really showed their class as one of the best academies in Europe and in the world.
"If the #GarudaSelect players want to be at the same level as Man City, they have to do things right. We can not play football without putting to pressure the opposing team, you have to be ready to fight them, you have to compete against them. That is important," said Coach Dennis.
“To face a team like Man City, the players must be more courageous to move the ball in order to keep the match flow. They did not do it in the match. In the first half they weren't brave to keep the match flow by moving the ball and they didn't pressure the opponents as instructed," added Coach Dennis.
Even though the players could not repeat their performance in the previous matches, Coach Dennis still sees a positive lesson that can be learned. According to him, in the future the players hopefully will know what to do when they face against a quality team like this City academy.
"In the second half, there was only a little improvement. The players were starting to challenge the opponent's game. It's nice to see it. But overall, Man City is really a quality academy team. So today we played against talented players, really good players, "continued Coach Dennis.
"The positive side is that the players could see by themselves the level of play they had to face. Hopefully today match can become a lesson for #GarudaSelect. Man City players play smart, they know what to do in various situations, in an appropriate way. Their technique is also good, " Coach Dennis concluded.
