For him, the last six months have been a memorable period and have provided many valuable lessons that support the development of his game on the field.
After returning from England, the #GarudaSelect players immediately have been undergoing quarantine in Jakarta starting on Monday (17/5). In the first few days, there wasn't much activity, all the players just rest in their rooms after a long journey.
After arriving in Indonesia,one of the #GarudaSelect players, Faiz Maulana, shared his impressions about his experience in England. For him the past six months have been a memorable period and have provided many valuable lessons that support the development of his game on the field.
"One thing that I think is improving is my mental strength. Now I become more confident when I compete in a match . I am no longer afraid to fight against defenders who are bigger than me. My fitness levels has been also growing rapidly. Besides that, while in England I also learned a lot about professional attitudes as a player,"said Faiz.
For Faiz, the most memorable match is of course the match against Manchester City. For him that experience opened his eyes that to be a great team requires not only good technical skills but also mental maturity to play on the field.
“The Manchester City Academy team played very calmly and all lines were very compact. When it comes to technical skills, they are certainly above average. It's not easy to break through their defenses. You can see for yourself what kind of match it was. I will always remember the way they played and I use it as a benchmark for my way of playing football, "he continued.
Faiz also expressed his expectations after returning back to his homeland, Indonesia.
"Hopefully I can be selected again to participate in the #GarudaSelect Program next season. I want to develop further. But after coming back to Indonesia, I will continue to practice and repeat all lessons that I received while in England, " Faiz concluded.
